LAGG Whisky

Immersive Visitor Experience

For hundreds of years, to increase their income, small Arran communities made their own spirit in illicit homemade stills. The resulting whisky, which became known as ‘Arran Waters’, was smuggled from Lagg and sold on mainland Scotland.

We were thrilled to create an immersive animated environment that told the story of Lagg’s facinating heritage, as part of the visitor experience for the LAGG Distillery.

Weaving hidden gems from historical archives with footage captured on Arran…

…and playing with the elements of fire, water, and wind, the film burned onto the wooden floor below the audience’s feet. The quadrophonic sound brought the raw sounds of the sea inside Lagg distillery, to swirl around the projection, immersing the audience in the story of Arran’s Water, the whisky smugglers, and illicit stills.

If you have an idea or story to tell, we’d love to hear from you!
